Vote for Jason on Oct. 15

I’m Jason Lennox and I’m ready to represent all of Area A and the qRD.

All Candidates Meeting

Join me and all other Area A Director candidates at a special All Candidates Meeting at the Northside Community Recreation Centre (Old Lund School) on Saturday, October 8 at 3 pm.

The Community Centre is located at 9656 Larson Bay Road, Lund.

About Me

I have met many of our citizens as I was born, worked, married, and raised a family in the region with my childhood school crush. We are lucky enough to call Lund and Area A home.

Community and service have been important to me since I was young. I’ve been involved with Youth Activity Council, Northside VFD for several years and I helped build the Lund Gazebo.

I’ve met many as First Responder, then Paramedic for several years with BCAS and hospital ER Dept. Those were special years where I truly valued helping people.

I have experience being in Unions and on their executive, in front line supervision and now as a senior manager with Paper Excellence, responsible for safety in their western Canadian operating mills.

My experience

I have worked with my hands and my head. On the waters with my father and in the forests. I’ve worked in people’s homes, health care centers and the backs of ambulances, in our mills, boardrooms, and communities.

I am proud to have been part of the consultative process with Tla’amin First Nation hegus and council during the renaming of the local paper mill to its historical name – tisk’wat.

My top priorities

  • Education. Consultation. I have already begun this process. Understand the rules and tools of local and higher levels of government.
  • Improve transit services to accommodate travel for work and recreation
  • Develop safe highway cycling paths and improve roadways across all of Area A, with safety as the top priority.
  • Through consultation, find ways young people can be mentored and meaningfully involved in issues important to them, particularly climate change
  • Encourage qRD board to more actively lobby senior governments to get truly serious about their climate commitments
  • Continue involvement in the discussions of Lund Waterworks and its future.
  • The Savary Island OCP is overdue for updating and is next on the list for the qRD to tackle this spring. It is clear from the current edition that the people who participated felt strongly about the character, environment, and unique factors that the island has. It is time to involve everyone in the latest vision.
  • Determine the priorities and long-standing issues of our communities and tackle issues together with stakeholders.
  • Represent all of the citizens of Area A.
